Dunsmuir Way is an award-winning transitional mountain home in the prestigious Martis Camp community of Truckee, California, designed by Emily Roose Interiors. Recognized internationally for luxury residential interior design, this project blends mountain warmth with refined, livable sophistication—tailored for family life and effortless entertaining in the Lake Tahoe region.

The design layers mountain transitional style with farmhouse influences inspired by Napa Valley, along with subtle coastal touches that nod to the family’s love of Florida. Rich textures, eco-conscious materials, and thoughtful craftsmanship create a home that feels inviting, elevated, and timeless.

At the heart of the residence is a chef’s kitchen anchored by a striking 10-foot Calacatta marble island, custom cabinetry, and black leathered honed granite countertops that extend seamlessly to the outdoor BBQ area. A handmade grey-and-white glass tile backsplash, custom two-column wine refrigerator, built-in display china cabinet, and bespoke dining table reinforce the home’s entertaining-first functionality.

Sustainability is integrated throughout with eco-friendly wallpapers, quartz countertops, a custom concrete sink, low- to no-VOC paints, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and energy-efficient LED lighting. Statement lighting, textured rugs, and three custom stick-sphere pendants by a local artisan add warmth and organic character—grounding the home in its Tahoe setting.
